Brilliant framing of the resource competition issue! The "DRAM beggars" detail really drives home how the commodified silicon supply is undergoing a phase shift based on margin differentials. Been tracking CXMT's trajectory since their DDR4 flood, and that pivot to DDR5 creating even worse shortages is peak unintended consequences. The two-tier memory market you describe is basically forming before our eyes, and its gonna reshape not just pricing but entire product categoories.

Thank you, Tara, for raising this extremely important point that the AI boom is not happening in a vacuum. As you point out, we're already seeing large-scale and downstream environmental and ecological risk, something which is only going to accelerate further in 2026 and beyond. I like to think that governments will put some kind of levies on BigTech with regards to AI usage costs, but I live in hope...
